MONIELART
Me llamo Mónica, estudié Bellas Artes en la UCM (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), cursando el último año en la Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal, 2013), después hice Ilustración Editorial en la ESDIP (Escuela Superior de Dibujo Profesional, 2018) e Ilustración de Libros Infantiles, con Jose Fragoso, también en ESDIP (Madrid, 2022).
En los inicios mi trabajo artístico se centró en la creación de libros de artista y el dibujo abstracto. El academicismo que adquirí, del cual no reniego, me limitó en otros campos creativos, pero poco a poco me he ido liberando, utilizando todo lo que aprendí para ilustrar y contar cosas con el dibujo.
He realizado cursos de pintura con los pintores Mario Caamagno y Manuel Huertas Torrejón, de ilustración con Jordi La Febre y actualmente mi trabajo se centra en la ilustración, concretamente libro infantil, que permite crear desde un lado más tierno.
Por el camino hago retratos personalizados en acuarela y lápiz, intentando captar el gesto, la expresión, el lado más humano de quienes dibujo y me dedico a la docencia.

My name is Mónica, I have studied Fine Arts in UCM (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), doing the last year in Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal, 2013), after I studied Editorial Illustration in ESDIP (Escuela Superior de Dibujo Profesional, Madrid, 2018) and Children Books Illustration, with Jose Fragoso, also in ESDIP (Madrid, 2022).
At the beginning my work was focused in artist books field and abstract drawing. The academicism I learned, which I don’t reject, limited my creations in other creative fields, but little by little I started using what I’ve learned to illustrate and tell things with drawings.
I have done painting courses with the painters Mario Caamagno and Manuel Huertas Torrejón, illustration with Jordi La Febre and currently my work is focused in illustration, specially childrens book, which let me create from a tender side.
On the way, I do personalized portraits in pencil or watercolor, trying to capture the expression and gestures of the human side from the people I draw, and also teach.
